Adding a new communications format to the system can be as simple as plugging in the appropriate interface module and connecting the new equipment to the RIG backplane.

Tactical Access Switches

The TASL Tactical Access Switch (TAS) solution is meant to provide local/trunk switching based on IP/MPLS technology and cater for data, VOIP including video as well as aggregation and switching facility for traditional TDM voice switches.

Ruggedized Ethernet Switch (RES)

TASL (Tata Advanced Systems Limited)’s RES series is designed for harsh environment & military applications.. Powerful & easy to use, these devices allow users to simply plug any port to either a 10Mbps or 100Mbps or 1000Mbps.

Ruggedized PTP Synchronization (RPSync-1400)

RPSync series is designed for military grade synchronization requirements with accuracy in microseconds for harsh environment & military applications

Salient Features:

The system also distributes accurate time over the Ethernet using NTP (Network Time Protocol). The unit will act as time-server and designed for synchronizing the client systems/devices over the network. It takes the GPS time as reference and responds to the requests for time by the clients. The server also broadcasts the time in NTP format periodically. The unit also supports other protocols like SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).


The TASL’s Radio Planning Tool is used in pre-mission planning and deployment of LOS Radio network compatible to geographical mission area conditions.
he Radio Planning Tool helps in pre-mission planning for PTMP LOS radio network by finding nominal candidates for deployment. It has GIS and microwave propagation model integrated seamlessly. Graphical User Interface (GUI) is the primary user interface and it accepts all necessary inputs to perform the RF propagation analysis, based on which the field strength plot will be displayed on the GIS maps for any particular mission being planned.

The RF Planning tool simulates EM-wave propagation using standard propagation model and predicts most reliable locations on GIS maps where line-of-sight can be achieved by using antenna masts. The output locations obtained from the radio planning tool act as nominal candidates for tactical deployment.

The tool comprises module for GIS, RF propagation and Report generation. The planning tool generates reports and output plots as per Mission requirements, which can be used for automatically configuring Radio and Antenna Control Unit (ACU).
