Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS)

The Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) project is initiated by DRDO as an indigenous effort to design and develop a Futuristic Towed Artillery Gun System.

Tata Advanced Systems was one of the development agencies nominated to design and develop an indigenous 155 / 52mm Towed Gun incorporating futuristic technologies in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical design and analysis. The 155 / 52mm Cal Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) programme envisages selective development of various technologies to achieve better performance to meet user requirements.

• Rate of Fire - Burst, Intense and Sustained
• Automatic Ammunition Handling System including Crane
• Technologically dominant Artillery Weapon System to undertake the destruction of Targets at long ranges
• All Electric Drive as compared to Hydraulic drives in existing guns to ensure reliability in field over prolonged usage
